Dear Parents,
This Thursday we are running our annual Cross Country Carnival at the Batlow hockey fields, running the course around the showground and the golf course. How lucky are we to be able to have the prettiest track in the region! Distances vary according to age groups of course. Parents are welcome to come along and cheer on their children if they are able to. Races should be starting around 12 noon. Parents will need to sign in of course. Social distancing restrictions will be in place (1.5m rule) and hand sanitising stations will be available. In the event of wet weather the cross country event will be moved to the back up day Tuesday 16th March. Hume and Hovell teams will be challenging each other for the House trophy once again. All students will need to be in sport uniform for the day.
This Friday afternoon we are welcoming parents on site to have a barbecue with us starting at 5pm. Community Council executive members will also be there, so come along for a chat. As we look to the positives of the year ahead of us we can enjoy the new equipment and celebrate the opportunity to gather as a school community. For catering purposes please let us know how many sausages we need to order by filling in the request below.
Finally, Fr Kevin Barry Cotter’s funeral is to be held in Adelong this Thursday at 11:30am. Fr Kevin was a man of strong faith and keen intellect who retired to Adelong several years ago and was available for Mass in Batlow on numerous occasions. To eternal rest lay his soul.
Have a lovely week.
Jannine

NSW Active Kids vouchers are available to families with children aged 4.5 to 18 years of age. This has been made available to make sport and recreation more accessible to children of all backgrounds.
One of the objectives of Live Life Well at School is to see more children moving more often. So from a health perspective we want more kids, equal numbers of girls and boys, taking up the offer and getting active through sport and recreational activities among other physical activity!
Families can obtain two $100 vouchers, with one valid from Jan-Dec 2021 and the second valid for Jul-Dec 2021.
