Greetings everyone,
It is the second last week of the school year.
It is lovely to be revisiting St Mary’s again. I have had a lot to do in the past with St Mary’s dating back to 2011 in my varying capacities with Catholic Education. It is a real pleasure to be helping out teachers and students this week in Chris’ absence. I have been made to feel very welcome by all.
I am pleased to be with you this week to help support the school community while Mrs Baron and Mrs Richards are away. We all extend our sympathies to Chris, Liz and their families with the passing of their lovely mother Gabrielle Mary Ryan (nee Butz). Gabrielle’s funeral mass is at 11am this Friday in the church. May she rest in peace.
It’s an exciting time for the children, teachers and families too. The Christmas holiday period is a time for rest, celebration and a time to be thankful for many things in our family and community lives. It is a busy time at school this week. The children’s routines are somewhat interrupted by practices for the Christmas Carols tonight, Year 6 Thanksgiving Mass and the Awards afternoon on Monday next and then back to focusing on school work. I am getting to know their names as I visit the classrooms every day.
The Community Council met last night for the last time for the 2018 school year. I wish to thank them for making me feel so welcome too.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week. I look forward to seeing you at Carols by Candle Light tonight.
God Bless
Mary Quinane
