Dear Parents,
Last Friday was a very successful day. Our special assembly saw many parents, grandparents, and also special friends of our students, spending some time with us. Thank you! The students loved having you here and please know that you are always welcome now that Covid restrictions have eased. We are aware that if Covid cases increase in our school, the situation may change, but at this stage we are meeting regulations and we are returning to 'normality'.

100 Year Celebrations 2023
Next year, St Mary's Primary School celebrates 100 years of Catholic education. To mark this major milestone we need to start preparing now! The best way to prepare is by forming a sub committee of staff and parents to oversee events. If you are interested in being on the committee please email myself or the office email by Friday 3 June so that our first meeting may be scheduled. office.stmarysbatlow@cg.catholic.edu.au.
Tell Them From Me Survey
Every year Catholic Education conducts a survey regarding the performance of our school. Staff, parents and students (Yr 4-6) are surveyed regarding feedback on Catholic identity, teaching and learning, school operations and student wellbeing. Parents should have received a link to this important survey via a Compass post yesterday. If you did not receive the link please let our front office know. Results of the survey are important to us and all parents are encouraged to participate. The survey is open from Monday 23 May to Friday 10 June.
Leave
I am taking leave from today until Friday 3 June. I leave St Mary's in the capable hands of Ms Buckmaster and the team of staff who know students and parents so well. I'm off to Perth to see my son and his family. My husband, Rob, and I had planned this trip for the Easter school holidays, but unfortunately, Covid got in the way.
Take care everyone and have a lovely week,
Jannine
National Reconciliation Week — 27 May to 3 June — is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
All students will gather together, recognise and participate in National Reconciliation Week activities next Monday 30th of May.
In the meantime, in recognition of National Reconciliation Week, we pray
Holy Father, God of Love,
You are the Creator of all things.
We acknowledge the pain and shame of our history and the sufferings of Our peoples, and we ask your forgiveness.
We thank you for the survival of Indigenous cultures.
Our hope is in you because you gave your Son Jesus to reconcile the world to you.
We pray for your strength and grace to forgive, accept and love one another, as you love us and forgive and accept us in the sacrifice of your Son.
Give us the courage to accept the realities of our history so that we may build a better future for our Nation.
Teach us to respect all cultures.
Teach us to care for our land and waters.
Help us to justly share the resources of this land. Help us to bring about spiritual and social change to improve the quality of life for all groups in our communities, especially the disadvantaged.
Help young people to find true dignity and self-esteem by your Spirit.
May your power and love be the foundations on which we build our families, our communities and our Nation, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
