What a busy start to the Term! Last Friday, we hosted, in conjunction with St Joseph's in Adelong, another successful Western Region Cross Country event. Almost 300 students were competing, and we could not have been blessed with a better day! A big thank you to all the parents who volunteered and helped put on the day; your contribution to our school is much appreciated. I would also like to say a big thank you to Father Joe, who came up to the carnival to support our students and blessed the carnival with a prayer before it started.
A the time of writing this newsletter, the Vatican Conclave is meeting and working together to elect our new Pope. May they be guided by God in this important process. Hopefully, next week we will know who will be our new spiritual leader for all Catholic people around the world.
Next Thursday will be a very special day for our school and some of our students. Poppy, Lacey and Mackenzie Garner will be celebrating their Baptism.
Scarlett Flenley and Maddison Galvin will celebrate their Reconciliation, and Mackenzie, Lacey and Scarlett will also celebrate their First Holy Communion.
I would like to invite all of our St Mary’s families to this special Mass commencing at 12.15. At the conclusion of Mass, we will gather for cake and refreshments as a community.
May
The month of May is a special time for Catholics to honour the Blessed Mother Mary - our St Mary’s school patron saint.
In May, we celebrate Mary, our Mother, and just as importantly, we also celebrate the wonderful mothers in our lives on Mother’s Day.
I hope all of our St Mary’s mothers, grandmothers, aunties and honorary mothers have a very special day this Sunday.
May your day be filled with peace, love and joy whilst you are surrounded by loved ones.
