Hello Everyone,
Many parents have already responded to our quick survey emailed yesterday. Your responses will assist in our planning if we need to:
1. Return to a remote model of learning, and
2. Adjust our usual excursions for 2020.
Thank you for your input on these important issues and please contact me if you want to discuss either of these points more fully.
The Royal Far West have been supporting nine of our students with a program offering support in speech therapy and occupational therapy for several weeks now. The program is delivered in our little library via zoom on a weekly basis. This is a pilot program for 2020 and we are fortunate to have been selected to be part of it.
We are really proud of our uniform at St Mary’s and students look very smart and also comfortable. Can all parents please ensure that their children are in winter uniform as per our uniform policy. Some students are wearing shorts and summer dresses regardless of the weather becoming very cold. Our uniform shop makes it easy for parents to access items and Ms Marsh and Ms Holland are always available to assist. Another gentle reminder that black school shoes are required for Tuesday to Thursday and girls navy pants should be worn Tuesday to Thursday as well, not track pants. We also have plenty of winter tunics available. If you need assistance with uniform please let us know.
Our Year 6 Leaders have finally received their Year 6 sport shirts. They have been very patient and understanding as COVID 19 affected suppliers and warehouses on the order we placed in late February . They proudly replaced their old blue shirts and put on their new ones. Their new hats will be arriving shortly. They look very smart in their navy and white.
Have a lovely week everyone.
Jannine
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you will renew the face of the earth.
Lord,
by the light of the Holy Spirit
you have taught the hearts of your faithful.
In the same Spirit
help us to relish what is right
and always rejoice in your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Last Sunday Christians celebrated the great feast of Pentecost. It was at Pentecost that the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit, and went out to preach the good news to the world.
Below is a guided prayer you may like to share with your family.
Church services will recommence at St Mary's Church for a maximum of 50 parishioners THIS Sunday 7 June at 8.30am.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions Mass will only be on the first and third Sunday in BATLOW and NO LITURGIES or MORNING TEAS will be held until
social distancing restrictions have been lifted.
Fr George thanks everyone for your support during these trying times and hopes we will be back to some normality soon.
During this time of isolation the Church has been having some roof repairs, new gates and painting done to freshen up the entry, annexe and sacristy areas.
Next Tuesday 9th June Catriona and Ryley are our radio announcers. Tune in at 1.45pm to 96.3FM Sounds of the Mountains to find out what is happening at St Mary's.
Happy birthday to Payton who turned 7 on 24th May, Logan who turns 7 on 3rd June and Star who turns 10 on 5th June.

NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORY TIME
National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 20th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
By facilitating NSS we aim to:
- promote the value of reading and literacy,
- promote the value and fun of books,
- promote an Australian writer and publisher,
- promote storytime activities in public libraries and communities around the country,
- and provide opportunities to involve parents, grandparents, the media and others to participate in and enjoy the occasion.
Kindergarten and Year 1 enjoyed be 'divas' with this years book ''Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas'.
